'Beautiful Blue' Full Size ICBM Launched for live TV escapology show
Client: David Merlini

Rocket-fx.com designed and built one of the largest non-governmental rockets ever for an Eastern European escapologist/illusionist to use in a live TV spectacular. Working closely with the illusionist, the 40ft missile was built to incorporate critical 'escape' elements as well as pyrotechnic special effects to simulate an engine malfunction and had a capsule for the illusionist to stand in at the top. The rocket was successfully launched from an island in the river Danube in central Budapest in front of 10,000+ spectators and a live TV audience estimated at over 5 million viewers.
